Introduction: the article considers the problems of combating fraud general criminal orientation, classification of such crimes. Some issues of organization of the work of police investigation subdivision of law-enforcement bodies on counteraction to general frauds are identified. Materials and Methods: cognitive procedures of system analysis, complex approach to the problem under consideration, formal and logical methods (analysis, synthesis), as well as a statistical method that includes the collection and analysis of statistical data on the state of crime and on the organization of law enforcement. Results: the results of the study were the determination of the main types of crimes under consideration. It is concluded that there is a number of topical issues on counteraction to general frauds. Specific measures to optimize the work of departments of internal affairs in the organization of work in this direction are offered. In order to effectively counteract general frauds, it is proposed to streamline the issues of organization of interaction between the relevant units of the Department of Internal Affairs and other law enforcement agencies, to develop guidelines for the disclosure and investigation of these crimes. Discussion and Conclusions: a number of topical issues of the organization of the work of the operational units of the internal affairs bodies on counteraction to general frauds were identified. These include the lack of proper internal and external interaction between Department of Internal Affairs units, other law enforcement agencies and organizations providing communication services, as well as the lack of special skills for investigators, etc.
