Introduction: the article focuses on the perspectives of using blockchain technology in the process of forming criminological databases in order to ensure the reliability and completeness of incoming information on crimes. Materials and Methods: the article presents an analysis of the possibilities of advanced blockchain technology and of the current methodology for collecting and processing criminological information; the modeling method allowed to offer a mechanism for applying this technology to solve specific criminological issues. Results: a theoretical model of the use of blocking technology as the basis of the system for the formation and recording information about crimes was presented. Discussion and Conclusions: the use of blockchain technology in the system of crime accounting by law enforcement agencies helps solving challenges related to ensuring the reliability of information, safety of its transmission and storage, compliance with the requirements of transition to a digital system of public administration.
